Adelaide MP Rachel Sanderson is lobbying to have Rundle Mall designated as a Tourist Precinct and has introduced a private members Bill to amend the Shop Trading Hours Act. The move is backed by the Rundle Mall Management Authority, which warns Adelaide's reputation is being damaged by having the Mall deserted on holidays. Rundle Mall general manager Martin Haese said while religious holidays should be respected, the Mall should be open for business on other public holidays.
