World physical activity dayHolding consistence and daily physical activities could reduce the risk of getting illnesses such as diabetes and coronary Heart disorder apart from reducing the body weight. By allocating 30 to 60 minutes for engaging in physical activity, one could control or reduce high blood pressure and control the level of cholesterol in the blood.

In conjunction with the World Physical Activity Day, the Ministry of Health this morning held an aerobic and walkathon. Participating in the session was the Minister of Health, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan and the Permanent Secretary at the ministry, Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Salam. World Physical Activity Day is a day to enhance public awareness on the benefits and importancet of physical activities in daily life. The theme for this year's event is 'Be active, Be Happy' The walkathon began at the car park area of the Ministry of Health and ended at the Jalan Menteri Besar Recreation Park at Commonwealth Drive.
