The Iranian Institute of Philosophy (IIP) and International Society of Islamic Philosophy (ISIP) held an International Conference on the World Philosophy Day in Tehran in which scholars from 65 countries, including Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, read their papers.
The topic of the conference was ‘Contemporary challenges to religion: Iqbal’s response’. Dr Latif Hussain Kazmi, Reader in the Department of Philosophy Aligarh Muslim University of India, was among the scholars who spoke on Islamic Morality with special reference to Rumi, Saadi, Hafiz, Sir Sayyid and Iqbal. The discussion also focused on contemporary challenges to religion with special treatment of Iqbal.
