World Aids Day 2010

Posted in : Aids Day

(added last year!)

In Sydney, World AIDS Day presents a valuable opportunity for GLBT and health organisations such as ACON to raise HIV awareness and funds for services and programs. A range of events will be held throughout the city this week marking World AIDS Day, which includes the Red Ribbon Appeal. Red ribbons are available now at selected businesses and the appeal will culminate with a concerted fundraising drive that will see hundreds of volunteers selling ribbons on November 30 and December 1.

“World AIDS Day provides us with a valuable opportunity to educate people about HIV/AIDS as well as raise money to prevent HIV transmission and help people with HIV,” said ACON CEO, Nic Parkhill. “So I encourage everyone to support our efforts this year by making a donation to the Red Ribbon Appeal, buying Red Ribbon merchandise or attending one of our fundraising or remembrance events.”
